This feature is very welcome, as the PDF-XChange Viewer Portable help is not very good. There are also tooltips, so you know what you are doing before you click. Commenting, underlining, stamping, attaching files and creating text boxes are all easily done, and can be modified and removed in the click of a button. The main exception is the ability to add or remove pages. Although the free version doesn't allow you to create documents from scratch, it does let you edit extensively. Its viewer is compatible with Wine, which provides another way to annotate PDFs on Linux.PDF-XChange Viewer Portable's editing options are also impressive. They support these programming languages: C++, C#, C, the classic Visual Basic, the modern Visual Basic, Delphi, and Clarion. They enable creation, manipulation, reading, writing, OCR, search, and display of PDF contents in other applications. Several PDF-related SDKs are available for developers, including: PDF Tools SDK, PDF-XChange Viewer SDK, PDF-XChange Drivers SDK, and Image SDKs. PDF-XChange Standard brings advanced PDF creation options. Its Lite print driver enables the creation of PDF files from any Windows app that supports printing. The viewer added OCR support as of version 2.5. Since version 2.5, there has been partial support for XFA, and exporting form data in XML Data Package (XDP) or XML format. It supports saving PDF forms ( AcroForms), and import or export form data in FDF/ XFDF format. Its further development has been stopped in favour of the freemium PDF-XChange Editor. It was available in a free and a paid version. PDF-XChange Viewer (now superseded by the PDF-XChange Editor) is a freemium PDF reader for Microsoft Windows. ![]()
